NARRATIVE TEXT
Before going to the story, i will explain Definition, Purpose, , Generic Structure, Languge Features, and Types of Narrative text.
Definition :
Narrative text is a type of text that tells a chronologically connected series of events.
Purpose :
The Purpose of Narrative Text is to amuse or to entertain the reader with a story.
Generic Structure :
1. Orientation : conains What is the story about, who is the participant of the story, where is the place setting, when is the time setting.
2. Complication : This section is the part that raises the problem or conflict that occurs in a story
3. Resolution : This section is a solution or solution to a conflict or problem in the story.
4. Reorientation : This section is a statement to close a story, such as moral messages, advice, or valuable lessons from the story
Language Featrures :
1. The sentence pattern used is usually a Simple Past Tense
2. The beginning of a sentence usually begins with a time adverb (Adverbs of Time) such as long time ago, once, one, once upon a time.
3. Many use time conjunctions
4. Sometimes there is direct dialogue between the characters in the story.

Once upon a time, in the northern part of East Java, there lived a scary giant crocodile. He was the ruler of the river and a predator who was feared by all the animals in the forest near the river.The name of the crocodile was Baya. He was very good at hunting, so all of the animals in the jungle were afraid of him. Baya lived in a river. In the sea, there lived a wild shark named Sura. He ruled the sea, and every fish were scared of him. However, Sura felt bored because he ate fish every day. He was curious about the river near the sea. Actually, they were friends.

They both hit each other. Sura bite Baya's tail. Baya did the same thing to Sura. He bit very hard until Sura finally gave up. He went back to the sea. Baya was very happy. He had his place again.
The place where they were fighting was a mess. Blood was everywhere. People then always talked about the fight between Sura and Baya. They then named the place of the fight as Surabaya, it’s from Sura the shark and Baya the crocodile. People also put their war as the symbol of Surabaya city.
