Procedure Text "HOW TO DO"

 

Definition 

Procedure text is a piece of text that give us instruction for doing or operate something.

Purpose

To tell the reader how to do or make something through a sequence of actions or steps. 

Generic Stucture of Procedure Text

Goal         : Provides information about the aims and objectives of the procedure and predicts a conclusion.

Materials        : Contains a list of materials or materials needed to perform a procedure or steps.

Step                : a list of sequences of instructions / activities to reach the goal in the correct sequence of steps. 

 

Example :

How to charge handphone battery

Prepare your:

• Handphone

• Battery charger

Steps:

1. First, connect the charger to your hand phone. The flash symbol on the charger plug must face upward.

 

2. Second, wait until the battery icon appears on the screen. 

3. After that, charge battery approximately 2 hours until the battery icon indicates that the battery is fully charged. 

4. And then removed the charger by pulling out from your hand phone. 

5. Store it in safe place.
