  The devastating explosion in Beirut, Lebanon occurred on August 4. A number of state leaders expressed their condolences to offer help. In fact, the Pray For Lebanon hashtag has become trending on social media Twitter. 

Here are a series of facts about the incident :

1.      The death toll is more than 100

The explosion in Beirut Lebanon, continues to record new fatalities. Hundreds died and nearly five thousand people were injured. The number continues to increase from previously reported.

2.  Explosion Chronology

This event occurred because of a chemical explosion in a storage warehouse at the port.

The following is the chronology:

1.      Fire on Tuesday evening

2.      There was a big explosion

      Initially a fire broke out around the warehouse. Some people also had time to record the smoke soaring. Suddenly, a bigger explosion occurred. Puffs of smoke quickly spread to the streets and buildings around the blast area.

3.      Victims Continue to Increase

            Evacuation was carried out by health workers together with residents. The number of victims of the explosion in Beirut, Lebanon continues to grow and AFP reports that at least 73 people have died and 3,700 injured.

3. The explosion originated from 2,700 tons of ammonium nitrate

    Based on the results of the investigation, the explosion came from 2,700 tons of ammonium nitrate. The chemicals are stored in the port of Beirut before being sent to Africa.
